Assemblyman Thurston “Smitty” Smith Announces Sheila Rose Bath as 2022 Woman of the Year for the 33rd Assembly District

APPLE VALLEY, CA – Today, Assemblyman Thurston “Smitty” Smith announced that he had selected Sheila Rose Bath as the 2022 Woman of the Year for the 33rd Assembly District.

Sheila Rose Bath is a local high desert business owner. Her family relocated to the high desert in 1965, where her father and mother started the family business, Advance Disposal.

Sheila has been a strong supporter of her community. An example of her support includes the annual Hesperia Unified School District Art Competition, where students are taught about the importance of recycling. Over the last several years, Sheila has been a strong supporter of many non-profit organizations in the high desert. She has consistently supported the Today’s Woman Foundation, Rock’n Our Disabilities, Kairos Prison Ministry, Victor Valley Bicycle Tour, and many other high desert organizations.

Assemblymember Thurston “Smitty” Smith (R-Apple Valley) is a retired small business owner and a longtime advocate for California’s taxpayers. He is the former three-term mayor of Hesperia.
