Today‚ the Governor delivered the 2026-2027 budget proposal‚ following yesterday’s State of the State address. These were two opportunities for him to be transparent and give Californians hope. Yet‚ he recreated history. He doubled down on the fallacy of his ill-conceived initiatives that have harmed rural communities and farmers. The Governor boasted expensive programs while the state currently has a $17.7 billion deficit. Where did all the money go? Just four years ago‚ we had a $97.5 billion surplus.
