Assembly Bill 1485, my legislation to put tribes on an equal footing with conservation groups and nonprofit organizations when land is transferred for conservation, was signed into law last week. AB 1485 supports land conservations and removes tax barriers for California’s federally recognized Native American Tribes.
The California High Speed Rail Authority (HSRA) budget has ballooned from $34 billion to $128 billion. After years of mismanagement and delays‚ the federal government pulled $4billion in funds. Given this new blow to HSRA’s budget‚ the public has still not seen an updated budget.
