This Saturday‚ our communitieswill gather to celebrate the Fourthof July – America’s 250thbirthday celebration.
Two and a half centuries ago‚ ourFounding Fathers declared‚ “Wehold these truths to beself‑evident‚ that all men arecreated equal‚ that they areendowed by their Creator withcertain unalienable Rights‚ thatamong these are Life‚ Liberty andthe pursuit of Happiness.‑‑That tosecure these rights‚ Governments are instituted among Men‚ deriving their just powersfrom the consent of the governed‚ ‑‑That whenever any Form of Government becomesdestructive of these ends‚ it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it‚ and toinstitute new Government‚ laying its foundation on such principles and organizing itspowers in such form‚ as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety andHappiness.”
