HR 9: 4th Of July

Recognizes and celebrates the 4th of July, and the 239th anniversary of the birth of our great nation and the signing of the Declaration of Independence that this day represents. Calls upon all people to take the opportunity to obtain a greater knowledge of the facts and circumstances that compelled the 13 original colonies to declare their independence, and of the timeless principles of liberty, equality, and self-determination that rest at the heart of the Declaration of Independence.

HR 10: 50th Anniversary Of Bloody Sunday

Commemorates March 7, 2015, in honor of the Foot Soldiers who participated in Bloody Sunday, Turnaround Tuesday, or the final Selma to Montgomery Voting Rights March during March of 1965.

HR 12: Social Work Month

Proclaims March 2015 as Social Work Month in the State of California.

HR 15: California Thursday

Proclaims April 23, 2015, as California Thursday in the State of California; commends the Center for Ecoliteracy and participating school districts for advancing student health and academic achievement, investing in California agriculture and California s economy, and benefiting the state’s environment; and urges all California schools to participate in California Thursdays.

Declares May 4 through May 8, 2015, as Cinco de Mayo Week.

Observes May 13, 2015, as Department of Motor Vehicles Centennial Celebration Day.

Recognizes school bus drivers for their continued and excellent services to the youth of the State of California.

HR 28: Relative To Humane Education

Promotes the teaching of humane education in public schools.

HR 30: The First Female Graduates Of The United States Army Ranger School

Urges the Pentagon to allow Captain Griest, First Lieutenant Haver, and any other qualified female soldier to serve in the Army Rangers and other combat units of the armed services. Recognizes and honors the patriotism, dedication, and perseverance of Captain Griest and First Lieutenant Haver and the historic importance of their achievement to the advancement of women in the Armed Forces.
