ACR 4: Lunar New Year Celebration

Celebrates January 28, 2017, as the beginning of the Lunar New Year and extends best wishes for a peaceful and prosperous Lunar New Year to all Californians.

ACR 5: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Proclaims that Monday, January 16, 2017, be observed as the official memorial of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birth and his work in the Civil Rights Movement.

ACR 6: Black History Month

Recognizes the month of February 2017 as Black History Month.

ACR 10: Fred Korematsu Day Of Civil Liberties And The Constitution

Designates that January 30, 2017, be observed as Fred Korematsu Day of Civil Liberties and the Constitution.

ACR 11: Cervical Cancer Screening And Awareness Month

Designates the month of January of each year as Cervical Cancer Screening and Awareness Month in the State of California.  Encourages all Californians, the State Department of Public Health, and the State Department of Health Care Services to observe the month and observe appropriate activities, promote screening and educational outreach to women and the medical community, and develop programs to raise awareness about the causes of, symptoms of, and screening for, cervical cancer.

ACR 12: Civil Grand Jury Awareness Month

Proclaims March 2017 to be Civil Grand Jury Awareness Month.

ACR 13: India Republic Day

Proclaims January 26, 2017, as India Republic Day, and urges all Californians to join in celebrating India Republic Day.

ACR 14: Rare Disease Day

Proclaims February 28, 2017, as Rare Disease Day in California, and designates the last day of February in each year as Rare Disease Day.

ACR 15: Ronald Reagan Day

Declares February 6, 2017, as Ronald Reagan Day.

ACR 16: Abraham Lincoln’s Birthday

Declares that President Abraham Lincoln be honored on February 12, 2017, the anniversary of his birthday.

ACR 17: California Court Reporting And Captioning Week

Proclaims February 11, 2017, through February 18, 2017, as California Court Reporting and Captioning Week.

ACR 18: 29th Annual State Scientist Day

Recognizes May 10, 2017, as the 29th Annual State Scientist Day.

ACR 19: Persian New Year

Joins the Persian and other communities throughout the state in celebrating March 21, 2017, as the beginning of the Persian New Year and extends best wishes for a peaceful and prosperous Nowrūz to all Californians.

 

Designates March 12, 2017, through March 18, 2017, as Sunshine Week, and celebrates the public’s commitment to open government enhanced by technology.

ACR 27: Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Week

Declares the week of March 5, 2017, through March 11, 2017, as Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Week.

ACR 28: Irish American Heritage Month

Designates March 2017 as “Irish American Heritage Month” in California, and calls upon Californians to observe the month of March accordingly.

ACR 30: International Women’s Day

Designates March 8, 2017, as International Women’s Day.

ACR 33: Latino Education And Advocacy Week

Declares that the last week of March every year as a statewide week of advocacy for Latino education.

ACR 35: California Wines: Down To Earth Month

Proclaims the month of April 2017 as California Wines: Down to Earth Month, to celebrate the sustainable leadership of California wineries and winegrape growers throughout the month of April.

ACR 36: Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

Designates the month of March 2017 as Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.

ACR 37: California Holocaust Memorial Day

Proclaims April 24, 2017, as “California Holocaust Memorial Day,” and urges Californians to observe this day of remembrance for victims of the Holocaust in an appropriate manner.

ACR 37: Armenian Genocide

Designates 2018 as “State of California Year of Commemoration of the Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide of 1915–1923,” and designates April 24, 2018, as “State of California Day of Commemoration of the 103rd Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide of 1915–1923.” Calls upon the President of the United States and Congress to formally and consistently reaffirm the historical truth that the atrocities committed against the Armenian people constituted genocide.

ACR 38: Adult Education Week

Proclaims the week of April 2, 2017, to April 8, 2017, as Adult Education Week.

ACR 39: Crime Victims’ Rights Week

Recognizes the week of April 2, 2017, through April 8, 2017, as Crime Victims’ Rights Week in California.

ACR 41: Bataan Death March Veterans Commemoration Day

Declares April 9, 2017 as Bataan Death March Veterans Commemoration Day, for appreciation of the veterans of the Bataan Death March and a memoriam of the deceased.

ACR 42: Jackie Robinson

Recognizes the 70th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier in a major professional sports league.

ACR 52: Portuguese National Heritage Month

Recognizes the month of June 2017 as Portuguese National Heritage Month.

ACR 54: California Nonprofits Day

Declares June 28, 2017, as California Nonprofits Day.
