For nearly two decades‚ the California High‑Speed Rail (HSR) project has been plagued with government waste‚ broken promises and mismanagement. Last week‚ it reached a new and unacceptable low.
The CEO of the High‑Speed Rail Authority‚ Ian Choudri‚ was arrested for domestic violence‚ in a case that reportedly involved abuse of a child coupled with alarming financial ties from fiancée‚ who works with a key contractor for the HSR Project.
That is why I wrote a letter to the Governor and the Chair of HSR’s board demanding the immediate termination of Mr. Choudri.
His continued leadership is untenable and an insult to every taxpayer in the Central Valley and the State of California. California Voters were promised a world‑class transit system; instead‚ they got a series of concrete skeletons and a leadership team mired in scandals.
The Stonehenge in the Central Valley is a monument of failure. It is time for the termination of Mr. Choudri.
