Leg Year - 2019-2020

Recognizes “Women Warriors” by proclaiming the week of March 18, 2019, to March 22, 2019, as Women’s Military History Week in California.  Encourages Californians to recognize the hard fought contributions of women and those who identify as women to our military and our freedom, the courageous sacrifices that women and those who identify as women have made while serving our country with “sheroism,” and the historic lifting of the ban on women in combat on January 24, 2013.

ACR 51: Sesquicentennial Celebration Of The First Transcontinental Railroad

Proclaims that Friday, May 10, 2019, will be celebrated as the First Transcontinental Railroad’s Sesquicentennial Day, and as California Railroad Day.

ACR 52: Month Of The Military Child

Declares the month of April 2019 as the Month of the Military Child.  Urges all Californians, local and state leaders, private organizations, and businesses to observe the month by showing appreciation to the children and youth of military and veteran families, including children of the fallen, for standing by their parents and loved ones who are serving or have served as members of the Armed Forces of the United States.

ACR 53: California Down Syndrome Awareness Week And Day

Proclaims March 17, 2019, to March 24, 2019, as California Down Syndrome Awareness Week and March 21, 2019, as California Down Syndrome Day.  Encourages all Californians to support and participate in related activities.

ACR 54: California Holocaust Memorial Day

Proclaims April 29, 2019, as California Holocaust Memorial Day and urges all Californians to observe this day of remembrance for the victims of the Holocaust in an appropriate manner.

ACR 55: California Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Awareness Month

Designates April 2019 as California Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Awareness Month. 

ACR 56: Limb Loss Awareness Month

Proclaims the month of April 2019 and April of each year thereafter as Limb Loss Awareness Month in California in order to increase awareness and understanding about those affected by limb loss and limb difference.

ACR 57: American Legion

Commemorates the American Legion for 100 years of service to the United States.

ACR 58: Special Olympics Day

Proclaims April 8, 2019, as Special Olympics Day in California.

ACR 59: Autism: Sensory-Friendly Movie Screenings

Supports and promotes the expansion of sensory-friendly movie screenings and similar programs for people with autism.  Encourages families to attend a sensory-friendly movie screening during April 2019, which is National Autism Awareness Month.

ACR 61: Gold Star Mothers’ And Families’ Day

Proclaims September 29, 2019, as Gold Star Mothers’ and Families’ Day in California.

ACR 62: California Nonprofits Day

Declares June 5, 2019, as California Nonprofits Day in recognition of the importance of nonprofit organizations to the economy and well-being of this state.

ACR 63: Child Abuse Prevention Month

Declares April 2019 as Child Abuse Prevention Month and encourages Californians to work together to support youth-serving child abuse prevention activities in their communities and schools.

ACR 67: Sexual Assault Awareness Month: Denim Day In California

Designates the month of April 2019 as Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and recognizes April 24, 2019, as Denim Day in California.  Encourages everyone to wear jeans on that day to help communicate the message that there is no excuse for, and never an invitation to commit, rape.

ACR 68: Girls On The Run Of Greater Sacramento Day

Recognizes May 11, 2019, as Girls on the Run of Greater Sacramento Day. States that schools across the Sacramento region encourage girls in grades 3 to 8, inclusive, to get involved and participate in a nearby Girls on the Run program.
