Marks the 50th anniversary of the federal Older Americans Act.

AJR 11: Military Bases: Closures

Memorializes the President and the Congress of the United States to recognize the unique military value of California s defense installations and the disproportionate sacrifices California has endured in previous base realignment and closure (BRAC) rounds.

AJR 14: Export-Import Bank Of The United States: Reauthorization

Urges Congress to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank (Ex-Im Bank) of the United States. The Ex-Im Bank’s charter will expire on June 30, 2015. The Ex-Im Bank assists in financing the export of U.S. goods and services by providing products such as loans, loan guarantees, and export credit insurance.

AJR 17: Foster Care Tax Credit Act

Urges the President and Congress of the United States to enact Senate Bill 664, known as the Foster Care Tax Credit Act, which would provide tax relief to short-term foster parents by helping to cover the costs of caring for a foster child.

AJR 18: Federal Wildfire Disaster Funding Act

Urges Congress to support H.R. 167, the federal Wildfire Disaster Funding Act, to provide more stable funding for federal wildfire response activities.

AJR 19: Military Service

Urges Congress to enact legislation allowing immigrants to serve in the military if they are eligible under President Obama s Executive Order for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) or Executive Order for Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA).

AJR 20: Veterans Affairs Hospitals

Requests the United States Congress to support and build a central Veterans Affairs Hospital in Orange County.

AJR 27: The Land And Water Conservation Fund

Urges the Congress of the United States to reauthorize and fully fund the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) in order to maintain and preserve land and water resources.

AJR 28: Daylight Saving Time

Memorializes the Congress and the President of the United States to enact legislation that would allow a state to adopt daylight saving time year-round.

AJR 29: Interim Consolidated Storage Act Of 2015: San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station

Urges Congress to pass H.R. 3643, the Interim Consolidated Storage Act of 2015. Urges the U.S. Department of Energy to safely and promptly relocate spent nuclear fuel from the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station to a licensed and regulated interim consolidated storage facility.

AJR 33: Port Chicago Disaster: African American Sailors Of The United States Navy

Respectfully urges recognition that the trial and conviction of the 50 African American sailors of the United States Navy in connection with their service at the Port Chicago Naval Magazine in Concord, California, during World War II were wrongfully pursued because of racial prejudice. Respectfully urges the United States Congress to publicly exonerate those 50 African American sailors in order to further aid in healing the racial divide that continues to exist in the United States.

AJR 35: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program: Cash-Out Policy

Requests the federal government to change the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to allow California to end its outdated cash-out policy, and allow California SSI/SSP households to participate in CalFresh, the former food stamp program.

AJR 37: Filipino Veterans

Asks Congress pass H.R. 2737 and S. 1555 to award the Congressional Gold Medal to Filipino veterans of World War II in recognition of their duty to the Philippines and the U.S.

AJR 42: Transport By Rail Of Flammable And Combustible Liquids

Urges the federal government to expedite its efforts to improve safety standards for the transport of flammable and combustible liquids (e.g. crude oil) by rail. Encourages federal efforts to address weaknesses in rail safety protocols, which have been highlighted by several recent accidents.

HR 4: Black April Memorial Week

Proclaims the week of April 23 through April 30, 2015, as Black April Memorial Week.
