Establishes a remembrance for Sikh residents in India, and declares the existence of alleged 31-year-old pogroms and massacres that were only brought before the U.N. in November 2014, and which have not been adjudicated.
Declares May 13, 2015 as the 27th Annual State Scientist Day.
ACR 36: California Association Of County Veterans Service Officers
This resolution recognizes the California Association of County Veterans Service Officers (CACVSOs) for helping veterans secure their federal and state benefits over the past 70 years.
Designates the month of November 2015 to be California Sikh American Awareness and Appreciation Month.
Establishes the California Task Force on Family Caregiving to examine challenges faced by family care givers and to make monthly recommendations to the Legislature. Requires the Task Force to submit an interim report to the Legislature no later than January 1, 2017, and a final report no later than July 1, 2018.
Declares the month of April 2015 as Financial Aid and Literacy Month.
Recognizes the essential role that museums have in the State of California as educational institutions, and proclaims May 2015 as California Museum Month.
Designates March 15, 2015, through March 21, 2015, as Sunshine Week.
Proclaims the month of March 2015 as Science Fair Month.
Proclaims the week of March 23, 2015, through March 27, 2015, as California Aerospace Week.
Proclaims the month of April 2015 as California Wines: Down to Earth Month, to celebrate the sustainable leadership of California wineries and winegrape growers throughout April.
Designates November 26, 2016, as Holodomor Remembrance Day in California. Remembers and honors the millions of victims of the man-made Ukrainian Famine of 1932 1933, known as Holodomor, and their descendants living throughout California. Encourages individual citizens, educators, businesses, groups, organizations, and public institutions to observe Holodomor Remembrance Day with appropriate activities designed to honor the victims and educate Californians about this tragedy.
Declares the importance of the arts to the state and the essential role of the Arts Council in promoting the arts throughout the state, and urges a unified effort between the Legislature and the Governor to provide a substantial increase in the General Fund appropriation to the California Arts Council in the 2015 16 Budget Act.
Proclaims May 29, 2015, as 529 College Savings Day.
